British Cartoonists' Association YOUNG CARTOONIST OF THE YEAR 2016 winners

The British Cartoonists' Association has finished this year's search for the UK's best cartoon artwork produced by young cartoonists. Every year the BCA's competition attracts hundreds of entries and offers aspiring cartoonists a chance to be judged by some of the best industry professionals working today.

The competition was judged by a panel of experienced cartoonists from nearly every national newspaper.

The winners this year are Alex Dempsey (Under 30), who lives in London, and Billy Partridge (Under 18 - age 15) from Nottingham. The Woodcock Award - established in memory of cartoonist Kevin Woodcock for a wacky 'out-there' cartoon - was presented to Joshua Greenslade, age 9.

The award ceremony was held at the Cartoon Museum on Tuesday 22nd November and prizes were presented by Christian Adams.

The winning artwork, along with runners up, will be displayed in the museum's Young Artist's Gallery for the next year.
