I'm interested in doing an internship at the Cartoon Museum, what do I need to do to apply?
We get quite a few internship applications, and unfortunately we just cannot take everybody on.  If you are interested in gaining experience at the Cartoon Museum, please send an up-to-date CV and a covering letter which tells us why you want to do your placement here, and what you are hoping to get out of it.  If successful, we will be in touch.

I am trying to identify a cartoon, can you help?
We are a very small team here at the Cartoon Museum, and are therefore unable to handle every enquiry.  We advise that you go to our links page to find information about our partner organisations and other catalogues which might have the information you are looking for.

I would like to buy a cartoon artwork, do you sell?
We are a museum and charity and therefore do not sell artwork for commercial purposes.  If you would like to buy artwork, we suggest you contact a leading auction house or dealer as they regularly have sales that include cartoon artwork.

I have a cartoon artwork but don't know what it is worth, can you help?
Unfortunately the museum is unable to offer art valuations.  Please contact an auction house or someone who deals in cartoons and illustrations.

I have a collection of artwork which I am interested in selling / donating to the museum, who do I get in touch with?
If you have something you are wanting to sell or to donate to the collection or to the library, please send details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  The Museum primarily relies on donations but occasionally we are able to buy items.  Unfortunately we cannot accept every donation - we have a collecting policy and all acquisitions to the collection have to be agreed by the Acquisitions Committee.

Why is there an admission charge?
The Cartoon Museum does not receive any government or local government funding and is completely self-funded.  This means that everything we do - the exhibitions, events, learning programme - has to be paid for by the museum through admissions and income from the shop.
